Since its release in 2008 Microsoft Hyper-V has become VMware’s toughest competitor as it starts to catch up in terms of performance and features.

 

As a result, while VMware’s market share has declined from 64% in 2008 to 56% in 2013, where Microsoft’s has increased from 20% to 28% in the same period.
