Blog: Introducing HP ProLiant Gen9 servers.
25 years after it delivered the first x86 server, HP has announced the new ProLiant Gen9 server range which it promises to ‘fundamentally change the economics, agility and business value of the data centre.’
It made the team at Trustco Towers wonder if any companies still operate any legacy Compaq servers in their data centre or server room? If so please share your photos on our twitter page (@trustcoplc) or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will publish the best pictures in our next newsletter.
Back to the HP ProLiant Gen9 server series – aiming at the mid-market – the servers have been optimised for convergence, cloud and software-defined environments.
Spanning four architectures—blade, rack, tower and scale-out – HP ProLiant Gen9 servers offer companies the ability to:
- Triple compute capacity and increase efficiency across multiple workloads at a lower total cost of ownership with design optimisation and automation.
- Accelerate IT service delivery and increase infrastructure provisioning up to 66 times faster when combined with HP OneView converged management features that will be available later this year.
- Improve workload performance of business-critical applications up to four times to drive business growth with unique HP storage, memory and networking innovations.
The HP ProLiant Gen9 range consists of 21 new servers which will be introduced throughout the remainder of 2014.
