How Does VBAK Work?
We install a backup device called a Virtual Service Gateway (VSG) on your network. We then connect this back to our data centre via a private ADSL, leased line or LAN extension circuit.

Working with your system administrator and MIS team, we establish a backup schedule which allows you to specify what data is to be backed up at any given time each day.

Once this is set up the backup is fully automated and during your specified backup window data is transferred to the VSG where it is compressed and encrypted. The backup data is then transported offsite via the dedicated private network connection to one of our highly secure data centres. The data is held offsite on disk at the data centre from where it can be restored quickly and easily.

Individual files can be restored directly online via a quick and easy to use VBAK interface. In the event of a major data loss or site disaster we also provide an emergency data transportation service, where backup data is transferred to a portable VBAK system and delivered to your chosen DR site.
